Ways We Can Work Together
Sessions are available face-to-face at my Drummoyne and Surry Hills counselling rooms, or online by secure video — across Australia and overseas. People arrive through different doors: a burnout, crossroads, the weight of family, years of holding it together and wondering why it still isn’t enough. But underneath, the journey is the same: from a life shaped by everyone else’s expectations, back to one led by your own inner knowing. Sessions in English, Cantonese (粵語) and Mandarin (普通話).
Counselling
One-on-one support in a safe, compassionate space. Whether you're navigating grief, burnout, or life transitions, I offer presence and perspective as you make sense of your experience.
Psychotherapy
Deeper, longer-term exploration of patterns, pain, and meaning. Together we uncover and understand the roots of your struggles, inviting growth at a foundational level.
Therapeutic coaching
Therapeutic coaching combines reflection and goal-setting to build confidence, clarify direction, and create practical strategies—helping you overcome challenges and grow toward a fulfilling future.
How I Work
Person-Centred – You set the pace, and your voice leads. I trust that you're the expert on your own life; my role is to walk alongside you, not to direct you.
Trauma-Informed – I hold deep respect for your story and the ways you've survived. We move at a pace that feels safe, so nothing is rushed or forced before you're ready.
Nervous System Awareness – So much of what we feel lives in the body. Together we learn to notice its signals — and to ease out of fight, flight or freeze toward a steadier, calmer state.
Solution-Focused – Alongside the deeper work, we notice what's already working, even in small ways, and build on it — so change feels practical and within reach.
Strength-Based – We work from what's already strong in you: the resources, resilience, and quiet wisdom you've carried all along, often without realising it.
You Might Be Here Because…
Burnout & Exhaustion
Sometimes survival means shutting down—numbing feelings, losing joy, or living on autopilot. Other times, it shows up as burnout—pushing through exhaustion, yet never feeling truly rested. Together, we’ll gently explore what’s beneath these patterns, whether perfectionism, people-pleasing, or old wounds, and create space to reconnect with your vitality and a more sustainable way of being.
Life Transitions
Whether you're navigating a career shift, moving countries, entering a new life stage, or leaving a relationship, transitions can bring both disorientation and possibility. I offer a grounded space to help you make sense of change, connect to your inner compass, and move forward with clarity and intention.
Anxiety & Stress
When stress and worry take over, it can feel hard to focus, rest, or simply be present in your own life. Anxiety can show up as racing thoughts, tension in your body, or a constant sense of being on edge. In therapy, we’ll slow things down, explore what’s driving these patterns, and develop ways to bring calm, clarity, and steadiness back into your daily life.
Finding Yourself Again
However much you achieve, some part of you stays unconvinced — still feeling like it’s not enough. Maybe you've spent so long meeting everyone else's expectations that you've lost touch with what's actually yours. Together, we gently untangle the old beliefs about your worth, and help you reconnect with a sense of self that doesn't depend on the next achievement — one rooted in who you are, not what you do.
Perfectionism & Inner Critic
Nothing ever feels quite good enough, however well you do it. There’s a voice that catches every flaw and rarely lets you rest. We get to know that voice together — where it came from, and how it might begin to soften, developing self-compassion.
Family Expectations
The weight of being the good child, the dutiful one, the one who carries the family's hopes — and the guilt that stirs when you want a life of your own. You can love your family and still long for room to be yourself. Both can be true here — and we can navigate it together.
Migration & Cultural Adjustment
Building a life in a new country asks more of you than anyone sees. Beneath the practical challenges is a quieter weight — missing a home that can feel far away, living between two cultures. For those who left under difficult circumstances, there can be real grief underneath. Here, there is room for all of it.
Therapy Is a Space to Be Human
You don’t need to have it all figured out before starting. This work welcomes your doubts, questions, and even your hesitation.
Therapy isn’t about perfection—it’s about honesty, curiosity, and the slow work of becoming. My hope is to create spaces where people feel safe to unfold, to be messy and real, and to rediscover the strength and beauty they already carry within. I believe healing is possible—and we don’t have to do it alone. Together, one step at a time.
A Gentle Beginning
Expect to be welcomed and accepted, just as you are. There’s no pressure to open up quickly—you’re encouraged to talk as little or as much as feels right. These early sessions are about creating a sense of safety, comfort, and trust. I may ask questions about your background, current concerns, and hopes for therapy—but most importantly, this is your space. It’s normal to feel nervous at first. But over time, many clients describe feeling more grounded, more connected, and more like themselves.
What to Expect
A Collaborative Process
Therapy is a partnership. I bring clinical knowledge, curiosity, and presence; you bring your lived experience. Together, we’ll shape the direction of our work based on what matters most to you. You are in control of what you choose to explore, and we’ll go at a pace that respects your sense of safety. Whether you want to unpack something urgent, sit in silence, or gently follow a thread over time—your voice will be honoured. This work is about rediscovering your inner resources in a supported space.
